It was something she'd considered, weighed up and put on a back burner, yes. Having people register or just document what they were, it seemed a little too controlling, and she didn't want it to delve towards that, not in the least.
"We don't, and we're not going to make one unless it becomes necessary." She could see he had reason for the suggestion, which was surprising but hopeful. He might be just a kid, but he had a decent head on his shoulders and a brain to match. "We don't know what we have running around at any given time, and there's a lot of tensions that can come up with the likes of deep, probing questions." Not to mention, sometimes the humans could be just as strong.
"It's a good idea, it's worth considering, but later. We don't know everyone well enough yet to start trusting aimlessly." Who was to say the vampires had the same control that Ruby did? Who was to say that Ruby or Lavender wanted that sort of responsibility when, really, only once a month were they truly different from everyone else.
"We run patrols here from the station almost constantly, there's a few trackers and the like that could be recruited to check out the vicinity on regular basis to keep people from the hot-spots, but for the most part, a lot of the focus is on how to get home. And that's what people seem to want to work at."
