A narrow scope of education on a certain topic or specialty was the norm, Velma understood as much. There was no point in spending all your years learning everything there was to learn about everything, because then you learned it all but didn't use it. She wouldn't pass comment on a persons chosen specialty either, since hers was less than practical at times.
At the comment about magic however, Velma's eyebrow raised slightly before dropping. She wasn't about to comment, she wasn't.

Likely even this magic she spoke of would have some kind of value in the matter, although Velma would have to note what strange people started talking about what strange matters at this rate.
