Peeta just nodded, not wanting to voice out loud that he really did want Katniss to decide just that. It didn't seem fair to make those kinds of demands, not when they'd always had much more to worry about. Katniss had made it very clear that her priorities lay within making sure she could bring herself and her family to safety.
The cupcake Pinkie had given him proved to be a very welcome distraction indeed. "I know what you mean," he said, in between bites. "About it keeping you calm and focused. It's easy to just kind of go onto autopilot and bake for an hour or so, not thinking about anything else."
Her last question was a bit puzzling to answer, if only because he'd rarely had much opportunity to try sweets at home before he'd had opportunity to come to the Capitol and try them there. Talking about pleasures and indulgences still seemed wrong, while everyone else at home was suffering so, but he couldn't help but answer honestly. "Chocolate chip cookies. They're simple, and you can save up your rations and make them. I used to just put one or two chips in each of mine, since we didn't have much at home that was just for us. What about you?"
