Peeta was unaware of what had happened to her, but she wasn't the only one who was trying to find something else to think about. His time in the beyond hadn't been kind to him either, even if he'd been able to make it out alive.
"Hummus? What's hummus?" He wasn't sure what it was, but if Pinkie wanted some he assumed it was something good. Peeta gave her a curious look as he started to sift flour into another bowl. "My parents owned a bakery in District 12." He paused, remembering she likely didn't know about the Districts, and added, "At home, I mean. I grew up working in there. At first I just stocked the ingredients, unloaded and loaded the flour and everything, but then I started making bread and cakes and other things."
