Lisa didn't breathe properly until Parker had managed to get her outside, then it was all she could do to keep from falling into full-blown panic attack. She swallowed hard, a few times, looking back at the pizza place, then every other dead-eyed citizen of Marrowood around them, wild-eyed and tense. She had a good mutual grip on her accomplice's arm, and it didn't let loose just because they were on the street.
"Their faces-" she uttered in a tight whisper, keeping quiet and close to Parker- god knew what those things would do if they heard her talking about them. So far, they acted no different, but she wasn't about to trust that.
"They changed--Jesus Christ, what the f--they aren't people."
