Hansel & Gretel; library
Gretel's eyes shot toward the source of the noise- books falling off shelves, then being kicked around before silence. Though her arms stayed across the leather ties of her corset, her shoulders went stiff.
"Not that I know of... Maybe it's another ghost." Because that was a very real possibility, though it seemed like the spirit-activity around town had hit a lull since the crazy curse set in. The could've just been the distraction of figuring that craziness out, however.
"I'll keep an eye on the kids-" Still watching the far corner, Gretel offered him the opportunity to actually do something. She shifted, pulling herself off the table edge just in case she needed to move quickly when she looked back at her brother, just as he was getting up.
She did not expect there to be a white-faced old man standing behind him- with a grotesquely wide shark's grin spread on his craggly face and dead eyes staring straight at her. She reacted out of pure startled instinct, jumping back with her voice caught in a gasp, jarring the table back with her legs and grabbing blindly for her bow-- but when she blinked, it was gone.
