Hansel & Gretel; library
With a small upward tug at one corner of Gretel's mouth, plus raised eyebrows, she asked, "Would you rather they were?" She tried to keep her tone light, but sometimes it just fell flat. There was no blaming Hansel, because he was right. This wasn't just boring, it was like stewing- sitting with their thumbs up their asses just waiting for something to happen. All without having much of an idea about how to help, or what to do whenever something did happen.
Gretel gave a defeated sigh, finally setting her rear against the table behind her. Nobody around them moved. They barely looked to be breathing.
"I say after this is all over, we get piss drunk," she muttered in a show of fatigue only Hansel ever got to see- she'd been strong for his sake up to this point, but sitting in limbo like this was almost worse than being holed up in their room.
