"Well," Robert began to mumble as his hand moved to rub the back of his neck. "I have been toying with the idea that perhaps I should follow in Rosalind's steps and take up some training." He held up a hand to stop Steve from interrupting his speech, imagining that the man would simply laugh at him and wave off his resolve to get in better shape. Or at the very least learn how to fight. He could do so many things, but fighting was definitely not one of them.
And while he was interested in the shield and the serum (if he knew about it) that gave Steve his abilities, at that particular moment it was the furthest thing from his mind. Perhaps he was never meant to know how the technology from the Avengers' world worked and a part of him was okay with that. He never would admit it, of course, but there were some things he came to accept would always be a mystery to him.
"Not in archery, but more melee training. I know I'm probably not the most physically adept person to try such a thing, but I feel that is far from the point. I wish to learn to fight, and I feel that you are the best candidate to show me how to do such things. I was hoping that perhaps you could spare some time to show me?"
