Emma didn't mind reading, but usually it was reading for a reason, not just sitting down with a book. She'd been through a few of the older spell and magic books in Marrowood and here in Grimoire, mostly just to get a feel for how the text laid it out. She read through the files and reports in the police station, but again, it was more to get a feel for it and to figure out why there was a bench in the roof.
"I'm trying very, very hard." Which, okay, she was sort of itching to go do something, even if it was just wander around the city once on a patrol, but this was Emma takes a day of rest day, which meant not doing anything work related. And it was definitely easier with Jefferson taking it off with her. Otherwise she'd be tempted to just go to the station anyway. "You're gonna have to make sure I'm doing it right."
Of course, trying to remember what counted as 'fun' before she hit Storybrooke just had Emma pondering it. "Well, pre-savior stress relief was catching bail jumpers," which usually involved hitting someone, "one night stands," although they were few and far between, "and cupcakes." Really, ever since she left jail, Emma had been a workaholic, probably to keep herself from over thinking things. "Oh, and Cake Boss."
