Koromaru's eyes blinked contentedly shut as Hawke stroked his fur and his tail continued to wag, his mouth opening in a canine grin. From across the room, Ken smiled too. While there wasn't any one thing about Koromaru that made him innately different from other dogs, he was smart and brave and loyal. A friend and a partner more than a pet. "He's earned every syllable," the boy agreed, his affection for the animal obvious, and took a few more steps forward. When he got close, Koromaru turned to look at him and barked brightly, though he didn't move away from Hawke or his excellent ear scratches.
"I'm Ken Amada," the boy added after a moment, "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Hawke." Then a memory clicked into place in his head, Lavellan's words coming back to him with the familiar sound of the surname. His dark eyes widened and he had to make an effort not to gape at older man. "Are you...the Hawke that can do magic?" he asked quietly, tone hesitant (because who knew if this was some kind of faux pas) but eagerly curious.
