Tony had to agree with the not being people. When he thought of people, he thought of like...a city. Maybe even alternative cultures--be it aliens, be it gods or whatever. Usually, in his experience, when there was an evil being they flaunted their plan. Or at least eventually showed up to taunt or something.
There was another larger, equally annoying, and difficult to understand bit of information to wrap their minds around. That was what really lit Tony's wick.
