Apparently, she was magic. There wasn't any Fade or well or dagger that gave her power. She was just magic. It was there, from her conception to now, she had a power that wasn't entirely understood but decidedly powerful. Yay her. "Well, yes." But it was easier just going along with that. The True Love concept was hard to explain when she was only just starting to accept that she could love at all with her poor little shattered heart. "We can call it a connection."
Emotion was definitely a portion of Emma's magic, probably a really large portion of it. And maybe it took accepting herself and her magic to really tap into that, but she knew that her emotional state was still very tightly tied to her magical ability. It was probably why she felt like shit when she vowed off magic after screwing everything up for a while. Of course like her stubborn teacher was going to let her do that for long.
"I mean, there's definitely plenty to work with around here. The books, are they here? They're in this library?" Maybe she could do some actual magic learning, like proper study stuff, while Garrett helped her centre her magic, and maybe that could help her work towards using something in this God forsaken place to help them.
