Opting not to take his bike because of the noise, Owen sent Blue off to finish clearing the streets and look for any signs of distress. He really hoped that she would listen to him and ignore her instincts should one of the creatures provoke her. Getting to the kid was a high priority--just when he thought this place couldn't get anymore fucked up, it went and brought in a boy and his dog.
The sight of Ken and the fluffy little creature had a pit clenching within Owen's stomach but he kept up a strong demeanor easily, offering the kid a warm smile as his boots stopped colliding with the pavement of the strip mall. It was barren save for the two of them, which was a good thing.
"Hey Ken, yeah, that's me." He blinked before bowing his head in return awkwardly, not wanting to be rude. Though it pained him to see a dog here he couldn't help but smile. "Nice to meet you guys--thanks for waiting up o me, sorry about all that. This place likes to throw things on the spot."
A quick glance around them had Owen searching for any dangers. "So uh, Claire told me you wanted to help out?" What they really wanted was to get him to safety, but Owen wasn't as dumb as he looked. He'd have to earn Ken's trust and respect, and he wanted to help, which Owen didn't fault him for.
