Mornings were just not Hawke's favorite thing in the world. Even back when he was growing up on the family farm his father had to shake him awake every morning for chores. He didn't mind the chores he just hated mornings. Once he was a noble Hawke could indulge in late mornings and sleep as long as he liked except when there was work to be done. Then Aveline got him up and eventually, Anders. He seemed to have lovers who had no trouble getting up.
Coffee, though, helped him in this world. It was much stronger than tea and he was actually vaguely awake as he walked to Owen's garage. He wasn't quite sure what the garage actually was. He was once again lucky to have someone to tell him where and what he was looking for. Walking around the city blind with a bundle of staves across his shoulder would've gotten old, especially with the early hour.
"You have a visitor, serah!" he called into the cavernous space of the garage. The building was emptier than he expected with a great deal of tools around. If it had a forge Hawke would've called it a blacksmith. It was obviously some sort of work space just for modern things that he was unclear on the purpose of. "I come bringing sticks to hit things with."
Well made sticks too. Hawke was quite proud of his work. Though it had been years since he made his own staff he hadn't forgotten any of the lessons his father taught him. It was quite a shame there were no elemental metals in this place. Then he could make real weapons for the other magic users.
