If Blue could sigh, she would. If she could roll her eyes, she probably would've been doing that from the start.
Instead she just blinked at the fallen pet. Huffing out a breath because didn't these humans learn how to walk? Weren't they shown by their mothers and alphas? Weren't they shown how to hunt properly and stay upright? Blue was beginning to think these creatures would be better off hunted rather than protected. She didn't think they'd survive long even with the help.
The Alpha was near the Female, the Female was traceable, Blue could take some time from her post to make sure this pet wasn't dead. She didn't know how the Alpha would feel about coming home to his den to find a dead pet out front. It's heart was still beating, and Blue could scent some salt in the air. Their eyes did that sometimes, they leaked salty water. Maybe it was defective like the other one.
Prowling away from the Alpha's den, Blue found a scrap of material that might've been some item of clothing at some point. It didn't smell like her pack, so she didn't care for it anyway. Shuffling back over to the downed pet, Blue tossed the rag from her teeth to land on the pet's face before curling herself up to sit just over from the pet. She might need to show this one how to walk.
She didn't think this was her job, but since they didn't have any more pack members, since her sisters were gone, and this pet looked to be missing her own pack, Blue could step in, so to speak. Unless it didn't learn, and then she'd just need to kill it. The sick ones weren't worth keeping alive.
