Her alpha was all that was left, and that meant she had to make doubly sure that things didn't get out of hand. The I-Rex had taken temporary control of them, and Charlie was lost almost instantly after that, then the battle with the hybrid cost her the remaining siblings she had and a period of isolation followed. It had felt like a punishment, being cast out, on her own. Because she wasn't smart enough, they'd failed and the others died and she should've been a better beta to her pack.
It made her twice as determined to make sure this pack survived. Her and the female and the alpha, she'd made sure of it. Even if the Alpha was somewhat defeated in this dispute, judging by the mannerisms, the sighs, the lack of orders, she assumed the threat was minimal and Blue just needed to pay better attention.
Closing some more distance, Blue kept her nose down, nudging against the Alpha's knee and snuffling. She was reinforcing the scent, something she'd keep much better awareness of from here out, she wasn't going to get comfortable and lose the rest of her pack.
Barking towards the park, where her den lay, Blue judged the distance with the echoing of her call, already aware that there wouldn't be a reply from anyone, because she was all that was there. This was a good distance, maybe this was why the female set her up so close, but with a good space. Blue would just need to run her own drills back and forth for a while to make sure she was quick enough.
She let out a soft growl from her throat, hopefully appeasing the alpha, letting him know she was definitely going to do better.
