Her remark caught him off guard, and he glanced up at her from stuffing his face with food. It still surprised him how much he could be similar to another universe version of himself, and yet have such different experiences. He smiled at her, though, and let out a chuckle.
"Guess that's true," he said finally after he sipped his beer. "Maybe I ain't horrible, but I ain't a saint. You can't be a saint when you're as good at killing as I am." And Logan was the best since he often did so with little regard for the consequences. He had gotten better about jumping into situations, and being reckless, but that part of him was still there. The one that threw himself into danger just to test the limits of his healing ability. Logan, more than likely, liked to push the boundaries of his life to see how far he could take it.
"Who says we can't?" Logan was challenging Emma's statement, but also the status quo of this city. Why couldn't they investigate those that were less than forthcoming about their intentions. It followed reason that there would be villains here to match the heroes. And Em was right - having too many heroes was good and bad. Too many cooks in the kitchen, and all that. But Logan didn't mind working with Emma - in fact he'd prefer it. They didn't have to be from the same time to trust one another. Once an X-Man, always an X-Man, and that was good enough for Logan.
