"Well, that's because it's fun." Learning things that were boring? Not really much fun, which usually made learning a total drag. Emma was great at learning how to steal and break into things, maths and science? Not so much.
"That's supposedly the point of siblings." Emma just smirked, not that she really had much knowledge of actual siblings, just the occasional kids she shared foster homes or group homes with. None of them really clicked well enough with Emma that she'd consider them family. Even with Mary Margaret and David, it was hard to remember sometimes that they were her parents and not just friends. "It must've been nice though, growing up with siblings." Even if it must've made losing them all the more harder.
"But I don't really mean anything by it," because it was hard to really resent anyone being good at things here, "you are kinda too nice to dislike." Giving up time for someone who didn't even know how her magic worked.
