The amazing thing about this universe was that Leslie had the chance to meet so many different people! And the stories of their worlds were fascinating enough to (somewhat) assuage the fear of being in a super weird place. The only vampires Leslie knew of were from movies, and no Halloween. And occasionally Orin would dress up as some kind of dark Nosferatu type, but he was just weird and was doing it for some weird reason. Leslie didn't know, and didn't care to find out.
But being here, and being friends with a real vampire was nothing at all like in the movies. She wanted to help Therese and Jeanette (mostly Jeanette, but it seemed like Jeanette didn't do anything without Therese so by proxy Leslie was helping them both), and if that meant giving blood, or possibly getting bitten then Leslie would do it. She would be brave about it, but she didn't think that she alone could keep two vampires adequately fed.
"Will it leave a scar?" Leslie leaned forward against the table, arms folded on its surface. "What if I'm not all that big on pain... can you like hypnotize me or something? Ooh!" She sat back, and flipped open her binder to the pink tab labeled "Blood Facts" and ran her finger down the page.
"I was doing research," she said finally, "and by research I mean I asked Ann because there's no Google here, but she says that a person can only give blood once every fifty-six days so that the red cells can replenish, or something. What's been your experience with it?"
