Leslie was so excited that Ann (and Jemma) had gotten the hospital set up and ready to help patients! It was what Ann was born to do - be the best damn nurse the world had ever seen! Restoring a heart beat with her bare hands! Setting a bone with a quick flick of her wrist! She was that amazing, and Leslie would never think otherwise. It was why she wasn't surprised that the hospital was set up as quickly as it was - Ann had a passion for helping people, and like Leslie, Ann needed to keep busy otherwise the reality of this world would set in.
Not that it hadn't already. This place was as shitty as it came. Leslie had seen it all - from demons to ghosts to monsters to dinosaurs - and there was still a part of her that hoped it was all a dream. She knew it wasn't, but she hoped that one day she'd wake up and be back home in Pawnee with Ann by her side. She'd never want to leave this place if it meant leaving the beautiful nurse behind.
Leslie saw Ann in the distance, and lifted a hand to wave to her. Of course she reciprocated the hug (because Hugs! Not Drugs!) and smiled brightly. "I can barely believe that we have workplaces," Leslie said with a laugh. "And this place looks great," she said as she looked around their area. "I mean you've got actual equipment and rooms! It's not just some makeshift triage center in an abandoned storefront." Leslie laughed, and then reached for Ann's hand.
"I'm excited to see the rest of it, and I am so glad you waited for me because how knows what's lurking around here." Leslie looked to her left, then right, then straight ahead down the dimly lit hallway. She swallowed the lump in her throat, and forced a smile. "I mean there's probably nothing. Nope... not a thing. We'll be fine. You ready?" The light farther down the hall flickered, and Leslie thought she saw a shadow move, but she did not mention that to Ann. It was probably her imagination anyway.
