Color Leslie impressed when the man covered her head from the falling debris. And who said chivalry was dead! But if anything Leslie would have classified herself as a self-rescuing princess, and didn't really need a man to do those things for her. Still, she couldn't deny that it was a nice gesture, and she accepted it gracefully.
She let go of Derek finally, none the wiser to how uncomfortable she made him. Leslie was often unaware of how other people felt about certain things, like her penchant for hugging and her over-the-top enthusiasm for local government. She was a lot to handle, but doing so meant having a friend for life.
Leslie peaked out of the alley. The street was clear, and in the distance she could see that the park was indeed empty. But the flowers, and trees, and bushes - all of the hard work that the team had put into the place was all up in smoke. She could almost cry, but she held it in with a long, deep breath. "Yep, at least they're out of the park," she finally repeated to Derek before she smoothed the front of her pant suit.
"Thanks again for saving my life," she said sincerely. "Though you gotta admit, they are really really cute dinosaurs when they're not stampeding."
