Leslie was not usually the clumsy type, and if she ever did fall she often did it with grace. Okay, maybe not grace per say, but she did a pretty good job at covering it up. But this was not one of those cases. She didn't want to trip, didn't want to scare the three-horns, but she had and she was just so thankful that Derek was there to stop her from hitting the ground altogether. She did feel very bad about the impending stampede. That was not on her agenda today.
With Derek's hand leading her away from the park Leslie took the lead and ran as quickly as she could. She really didn't want to let go of Derek's hand, and her blue eyes were wide with fear as she looked for an alley. Any alley. Any alley at all. She didn't see any until they passed Lutece Laboratories. "There!" It was her turn to pull on Derek as she took him to the alley. She really hoped the triceratops would pass, and she knew that such a commotion was more than likely to cause the destruction of a few buildings.
She pressed herself against the wall of the building, and watched at the dinosaurs raced passed her and Derek. Her chest was heaving, but she was smiling.
"So 'The running of the bulls' is off my Bucket List, especially if it's anything like that," she said with a grin. "Thanks for not letting me get trampled." She didn't know him that well (or at all, really), but the man just saved her life, and like it or not he was getting a hug. And she did. Really tight. Because it wouldn't be a Leslie Knope hug if she didn't put all of her gratitude into it.
