Part of Ruby didn't want to make a run for it, because of course that would mean running and leaving him to hold them off, and she wasn't sure if that was 'go and I'll stay' or 'go, you're holding me back', neither of which were really great, but Ruby wasn't exactly in the position to argue at all.
When they got closer, close enough that it would take Ruby maybe a few lunges to run the distance, she gave a final squeeze at the belt before letting go. "Don't get dead, okay." The steps were awkward, trying not to slip in any of the mess, before reaching the door and the brunette waiting there, grabbing at the door frame before twisting to see just where her rescuer was.
