The sounds were destruction were deafening, for certain, and Robert knew without a doubt that coming to the Sleepy Hollow was a mistake. He honestly did not know how the usual hero types did it. How they constantly put themselves on the line for other when this is what they had to look forward to. It was not a cake walk by any means, and it allowed Robert to appreciate them a little bit more.
But his focus now had to be Emma. Not that she wasn't entirely capable of saving herself, but they were both stuck in this hotel and they only had the other to rely on. He was sure he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he did let anything happen to her, or if he didn't at least try his best to do right by the woman.
Her words brought forth a small smirk on his part. Yes, he was very aware that seeing him outside of the lab was unusual, but what he thought was even more strange was this act of bravery (or just sheer foolishness). Robert almost answered Emma with something along the lines of "I'm here to save you, of course," but the words were stolen when the gigantic creature tore through the wall as if it were made of paper.
"Movement would be ideal," he managed to say as he ushered Emma back toward the staircase from whence he came, but the sudden appearance of the dinosaur had caused a beam to fall and partially block the path. "I think you can squeeze through here," he said as he cleared away some of the drywall. There was another loud roar, and with it another claw through the building. Debris fell around them, and Robert (the chivalrous lad that he was) moved to cover Emma's head with his body. He wasn't hurt seriously, but he definitely felt the rush of adrenaline that was fueling his actions. Perhaps it was what fueled the heroes all the time.
"Quickly now, Ms. Swan," he said to her. "I don't think this wall is going to hold up for much longer."
