(i feel like i've given everyone else ample chance to jump in)
The infestation of prehistoric little beasts was problematic. Jeanette was very used to being the predator in the town. Sure, there were wolves, but they were only a big deal when they got out of control. And these ones seemed ever so damn tame. She was not tame, and she did not like being out-fanged.
Therese wouldn't even entertain anything to do with these things. She was holed up in the office at the nightclub, avoiding those huddling there for safety. Jeanette wasn't going to miss the opportunity to see what these things were like though, she'd ventured out earlier to have a look. The little ones weren't too bad; the head-bangers and the idiot little snappers. She'd managed to sink her fangs into those little things, and after biting one of their necks right off, the others seemed to give her a wide berth. Sensible little things that they were. Not that it fed her in any manner.
Of course it didn't take long for the bigger, badder, meaner dinos to show up. Roaring their superiority and snapping their jaws at anything they could. Jeanette had slipped mostly out of the way, letting the raptors trail in and tear the head-bangers apart, watching with glee at they cornered their prey, set traps and ambushes. So fucking smart these little monsters, and god if she didn't want one. Even if the beasts would've torn her apart just the same.
Sometimes a pet that could eat you was just right to remind you of the food chain.
Jeanette just liked being at the top of it.
It didn't take them long to track Jeanette's unusual scent -she was dead, she didn't circulate blood like the others did, she was colder. It drew a little attention when a corpse walked around. Beasts like these, they were sure to wonder what was moving the body around. Now Jeanette was slinking in and out of the stores, spreading her scent to hopefully draw out the game.
Until she barged into the clinic and was hit with the very sharp scent of human. "Aw, little bunny, what're you doing out here?" Cool, someone that might get eaten!
