Were Emma here with her people, her X-Men, her team, perhaps she would be more concerned about the general public and their safety, their goody-two-shoes nature had a habit of rubbing off on people and even Emma wasn't immune. Instead it was a bunch of strangers, none of whom she was particularly attached to.
So at the noise of yet another of those animals inside, this time smaller but likely no less dangerous than the Rex, Emma shifted almost instantly to diamond. Screw them all if they thought she was going to be eaten, killed screaming and gorged on. No, if that happened she'd shatter like the brittle bitch she was.
"Darling, I'll manage a damn marathon at this rate." Her voice was only mildly harder, as her compassion and fear melted away without her soft squishy internal mess to let her feel anything at all. "Now, just how will we be getting past that?" Sure, Emma was rock hard diamond right then, and she had no intention of shifting back, even if this made her companion uncomfortable at all, but the lizard was just outside and apparently not taken in by the beam of light that the Rex was currently having a one sided roaring contest with.
