When the large bone-headed dinosaurs panicked and ran for it, Hawke ducked back inside the town hall. He had planned, actually planned, to stay inside until the creatures calmed down and the sun rose again but as he looked out a window he noticed a figure trying to make their way to the building before they ducked into shadow.
"Andraste's tits," he muttered to himself. "You are a damned fool, Hawke and you're going to die."
But he slipped outside anyway. He kept to the shadows as much as possible, his staff held at the ready in case something came at him. If he had been underground it would be like avoiding darkspawn in the Deep Roads.
He approached the woman pressed against the wall with a finger against his lips to keep her quiet. "This way, keep the wall on your right, and your eyes on your left." They were only vulnerable from behind that way. Whatever spooked the bone-heads would come from one direction, hopefully, and he would be ready.
