WHO:Neal Cassidy & Killian Jones WHEN: Sunday Evening WHERE: By the lake WHAT: Talking about things WARNINGS: Feelings? Is that something you warn for? STATUS: In progress
Dying had put things in perspective.
Neal imagined not many people got to say that. Or maybe they did here, what with the way people apparently came back after, but not most places. But he figured it was different. Most people seemed to recognize that dying and coming back was a thing here. When he'd died, he'd had no idea that it wasn't the end. And it had made him realize some things. For all that he'd tried to rekindle his relationship with Emma, he'd realized that there was too much between them to go back to how they'd been. All he really wanted was to know that she was happy. That she and Henry were both happy. And he didn't think, after all this time, that he was the one to make her happy.
And then there was Killian. They'd managed to talk about some of the things that had stood between them since Neverland, but there were still a lot that needed to be said. His feelings toward the pirate were complicated at the best of times. And this was definitely not the best of times. Still, Neal was glad that things seemed to be moving toward something better. Maybe something a lot better, given the way their conversation had seemed to be going. Though it had been a long time, he still remembered being younger and idolizing Killian, being attracted to the pirate in those days on the Jolly Roger. And even after all this time, it was still true. Still, he wasn't thinking anything would come of that. He would be happy just to regain their friendship.
Heading out of his room, it didn't take long to reach the lake. He wasn't sure how long it would take Killian, so he focused his attention on the water and just waited for the other man to arrive.
