A somewhat stifling and or crushing hug wasn't really troubling Ann right now, it was just a huge relief to have Leslie there and she held her tight in return, though as she looked at her again, Leslie with a warm reassuring smile – there was maybe something a little different about her. She'd gone blonder again? Was that it? Ugh, Ann wasn't sure of anything right now. Still Ann sort of smiled in a bewildered sort of way back, trying her best not to seem ungrateful.
Ann allowed herself to be led over to the bench to sit down, which she did slowly, sort of just awkwardly letting Leslie steer her about, and keep a hold of her hands. She nodded slowly in that hesitant way that said she was ready and prepared to hear something she wasn't going to like, or perhaps just that she expected something she have to somehow rationalise would come out of Leslie's mouth. Okay. Definitely insane.
“Leslie-” Ann said slowly, eyeing her closely with a slightly squinted gaze, her signature eyeballing reserved for when she knew Leslie was saying something or about to do something completely ridiculous or borderline dangerous; sometimes Leslie relented and backed down, and sometimes she didn't – and then the 8 Harry Potter films had followed. But she was ..being serious. As far as Ann could tell from staring at her a lot.
Ann puffed a breath out, keeping her words purposely slow and clear. “This is crazy.” She looked Leslie steadily in the eye, because it was. “How is this okay?” Really, Ann was managing to stay sort of composed, mostly because Leslie was there, but still she had her serious, slightly demanding voice on. Was Leslie really okay with it all? How? “I mean- I'm really glad you're here.” She added calmly, both with a touch of honest relief, and also to be sure not to offend Leslie's best attempt at being calming despite her talking at a million miles a minute, and Ann squeezed her hands back. “But this is crazy.” She repeated, at loss for pretty much anything else and gradually losing her attempt at not-freaking-out.
