Ann wasn't entirely sure if she actually saw anything more than a flash of bright blonde hair before she was wrapped in a hug and jostled around in a manner she knew only too well, but was more than happy to endure. Because an embrace from Leslie instantly felt like home, as happy as she was in Michigan, and as nice was it was to be close to her family, she'd never quite get used to not having her best friend there at a moment's notice.
Ann hugged her back tightly, letting herself be exuberantly tugged about and finding her eyes glassy too despite the fact she was greeted with a stream of babble that seemed to actually be one unending word. For such a strange, abrupt experience, she was kinda scared. something about Leslie being here, even at her most excitable gave Ann a sense that things would work out. Somehow. As much as she often had to be there to calm or reassure Leslie, Ann needed her too in equal measures. She looked momentarily confused by the fascination with her hair, it couldn't have grown more than a couple of inches since she last saw Leslie. “Barely.” Ann smirked a little, casting off Leslie's compliment fondly, sure she had offered it just because that's what Leslie did, as she'd encouraged her to grow it out in the first place. “It's been like this for ages.” She added.
“It's so good to see you too.” Not that the phone calls weren't a regular, constant thing, something Ann looked forward to. But they both were busy, it wasn't always so easy. “I mean, maybe ..I wasn't expecting it'd be in this weird, scary ghost-town thing.” The trailed off awkwardly, with an uneasy sort of frown and chose to move on, she'd save her questions for when Leslie'd calmed down a little. She had lot of questions. “But- it's been way too long.” She shook her head slowly, letting the confusion just flow out with her words. “God, it's so weird, I was just talking to you last night- and ..you've been here for how long? How's that even possible?”
