I'm not done yet WHO:Michonne & Rick Grimes WHEN: Friday afternoon WHERE: The Station WHAT: Time heals all wounds; well, most wounds. Michonne and Rick talk and stuff. Things. WARNINGS: TBD! STATUS: In Progress
There was a lot to be said for dusting yourself off and starting again. Maybe not even starting again, just picking yourself up to keep going. Michonne knew that well, they all did really. There didn't seem to be a time where they weren't knocked down to try again.
That didn't make it any less awkward, returning to the community, whatever community there was. Michonne had beat herself up for long enough before she ventured out into the house again, seeking quiet companionship in small doses before fully returning to her usual walks of the area, looking for any threats that may come after the people there.
It only felt natural that Rick was her main source of company for the longest time. She knew how to time her visits to the station so that Emma wouldn't be there, on her own patrol or on a break. Not for a dislike of the woman, but purely to avoid awkwardness on her own part. Sitting around the station for a few minutes every day was a little relaxing, enjoying that without worrying about extra questions or explaining things. Michonne just needed the few times during the day where she didn't need to worry about that.
Flicking through some of the scraps of paper on one of the empty desks, Michonne flicked the sheets back and forth, the handwriting changing a few pages in until she realised they were the revisions that a few of the people in town were making to the notes in the hotel rooms.
"Is this still an idea? Someone updating the 'welcome' letters?" Michonne even went as far as to insert her own finger quotes.
