There were a lot of times when Leslie could be called "doofy", but that should never be confused with lack of intelligence. She had a good heart, and a genuine want to help the people around her. Sometimes she faltered over her words, and acted silly, but that was all a part of Leslie's charm. Given time Arthur would be a member of Leslie's fan club, too.
"There are people here that have magic," Leslie said easily. "But they're good. They've helped out a lot. The town, though..." Leslie trailed off and shook her head. "The town is bad news, and our good magic users believe that the whomever is responsible for us being here is definitely using dark magic." She nodded despite the fact that she wasn't an expert, she just trusted that the people who told her that information knew better than she did.
She took a deep sigh, shoulders lifting as she did before dropping dramatically. "The Mayor is... barely here," she said sadly. "I keep dropping stuff off outside his office, and sometimes it disappears and other times it stays there for weeks. It's really frustrating. He's the only one that maybe has answers, but he doesn't regularly speak to anyone." That never stopped Leslie from speaking to him through text and voice messages, but she didn't mention that to Arthur. The poor dear didn't seem to have a good grasp on technology, and it kind of reminded her of Jerry a little bit.
Leslie stepped closer to Arthur, and placed a hand on his forearm. "I don't want to burst your bubble, but there have been a lot of attempts at actively leaving this place, and they've all failed. Whatever is keeping us here is doing a hell of a job. So... don't get frustrated when days turn into weeks or months, okay? Because it's gonna happen. And that's when I eat waffles."
