The house reminded her of the castle.
It wasn't nearly as big, of course, and lacked that biting atmosphere of emptiness that seemed to settle in over the years, but there were things that were unmistakably similar. Most notably, though, was how silent it was at night. Its still quiet meant that every step, every breath, every sigh echoed loud and wide, making it extremely difficult to sneak anywhere. That same acoustic grandeur often informed her of Anna's actions outside of her door as a child.
Needless to say, it left her somewhat restless in the late evening. It was something that she did almost without thinking these days, the wandering, but it didn't seem to disturb anyone else. No; it just left her with plenty of time to dwell on the things that still plagued her, on the boyfriend she still hadn't spoken with, on the life she hadn't managed to-
"Oh, goodness!" Elsa said, running bodily into Isaac as she too wandered. So much for not disturbing anyone. "I'm so sorry! Are you alright?"
