Hermione herself didn't feel qualified to provide more than conjecture on anything else besides magical theory and perhaps a basic understanding of Muggle history, but she wouldn't abide not doing anything. Thinking and asking questions, even if they proved to be elementary to others, was the only thing she could do now -- and of course, try to read up on everything she didn't know about.
The idea of alternate reality versions of each world represented in Marrowood was certainly not something she'd ever considered, but she could see how it would make sense. After all, there were multiple versions timelines represented in Marrowood. "There's no way around the fact that we clearly vanished from our worlds, yes," she agreed, gesturing between the two of them. "But there's enough inconsistency within the people who know each other, so I could entirely believe that hypothesis. But I wonder how to prove it?"
Then again, proving that specific hypothesis wasn't exactly important. They needed a way out, first, instead of worrying about what they'd left behind. And what Elizabeth said then proved that truly, they had other things to think about.
"And you recall the death?" Hermione leaned forward, worrying at her lip as she considered this. "Or you're aware of it because someone else has told you?"
