A journal? Seriously? That was for maesters and scribes. And spies like Varys and Baelish. Granted, Tyrion was more literate than most people he knew - reading being a self-defense mechanism he'd acquired a taste for long ago - of what use would it be to chronicle what was happening to them now? To what purpose, and for whom?
However, to humor the woman, Tyrion decided to play along. Searching the ground near where they stood, he spotted it. A dirty brown rucksack. He opened it and discovered not only the journal the woman spoke of, but a few of his books, some of his own clothing - which only served to prove that the bag was his - and, more importantly, a flash.
He spotted another similar item on the ground near to his. "That might be yours," he suggested to the boy, pointing at the object in question.
