Her smile widened at Chris and his curiosity. Gil wasn't yet used to talking about her magic to strangers, but she adapted quickly since not only was Enchantia someplace where an alternate sort of magic worked, but this young man practised a third kind. And there were others from his world here too. Would someone from her time and place in New York perhaps also appear?
Not necessarily. There didn't seem to be any logic behind who arrived, aside from them apparently being plucked away due to making a wish. More magically able people might be more practical for their quest, but all sorts were being brought to this world.
"Lots of practice," she answered. "Not to mention I can see a barely-there shimmer to indicate where the cups and plates go." How interesting that Chris didn't see what she could. Gil wondered was that because of the magic itself, or did her eyes work differently from his? "I could make the table viewable. Or I could enchant the plate to simply float anywhere. I assume your magic can accomplish the same kind of spells?"
