Game In Review: November 21 - December 11, 1997 (2009
The dominant theme for these last few weeks has to be new characters! We got rockstars! We got DEs! Awesomely fun last few weeks. There are a few days, the 23rd - 28th, I think, that I did miss putting in character entries and just put threads, since I started this before I went to the hospital and now those things are in my flist view. Bleh. This should be the last time that happens.
Now, barring any *more* hospital trips, things should start running regularly around here! Thank you guys for putting up with us through this.
Game In Review: November 21 - December 11, 1997 (2009)
November 21: Ginny tells Hermione about Draco giving up his Quidditch Captaincy.Megan and Su along with other students, make their way to the Pitch for the first Quidditch Match of the school year amid encouragements and bets on the outcome while Quidditch players try for support. Some students, though, are not as interested in Quidditch as others. Still, the results of the game surprise everyone, as Slytherin beats Gryffindor! After the game, Alfie and Julien sort of talk, and Goyle gets blackmail fodder, and Megan and Wayne have a little party in the Common Room.
November 22: Students respond to the Slytherin Quidditch victory, and again some are completely uninterested. Things in Ravenclaw are a bit tense in repsonse to Mandy and Michael getting closer. In the morning papers, the Daily Prophet announces that the Headmistress has made a controversial statement claiming that the Minstry has no place at Hogwarts. The Quibbler prints the Headmistress' statement. Meanwhile, Viktor Krum and Headmistress McGonagall meet to discuss an idea Viktor has about helping with Quidditch, and discuss Hermione and Viktor's contact. Back at Hogwats, Goyle is in a good mood following his Quidditch victory, and students and adults are now talking about the Quidditch results and about the Headmistress' statement, while others have things weighing a little more heavily on their minds, and Audrey and Alfie have to have a conversation. Following her meeting with Krum, the Headmistress meets with Aurors Savage and Pucey to discuss the situation.
November 23: Fred shows Verity the blueprints for the Hogsmeade shop. Astoria and Draco talk, and Draco reveals something dangerous about himself.
November 25: Nikolas and Lucy meet in the Astronomy tower and discuss her studies toward becoming an Animagus. Later that evening, Lucy and Branwen catch up. Meanwhile, Snape and Narcissa have an important discussion about the state of things.
November 26: Slytherin 7th year Boys decide that drinking should best be done together, in their dorm room, while mocking others.
November 27: Hermione broaches the subject of Viktor to Ron. It does not go well.
November 28: At the first of two upcoming Hogsmead trips, Lisa celebrates her birthday by having her brother buy drinks for her friends. Elsewhere, Fred finally tells Ange about the Potterwatch plans.
November 29: Death Eaters discuss the best ways to handle their new recruits. Meanwhile, the world stands still as the Weird Sisters make their first appearances on the journals, and almost everyone proceeds to throw a fit of excitement (as well they should) for a few days about it. Some use this to think about career plans. Elsewhere, George complains to Katie about Fred's betrayal and Argus Pyrites sets up his club as a hangout for Death Eaters. At Hogwarts, a few of the Slytherin queens discuss the nature of men.
November 30: The Weird Sister invasion and excitement continues. Some people are not so impressed, though. At Hogwarts, Pansy hints around and gets a date around the lake with Draco, while Nikolas makes plans for Quidditch and with Daphne for Holidays. Posters advertising Meghan's Birthday Party appear around popular areas.
December 1: More Weird Sisters continue to make a splash in the journals, to mixed reactions, though most people are still excited to see them, some are decidedly not. Nikolas puts his quidditch plans in motion with an owl to Slughorn and Su puts her career ideas in motion with an owl to Leigh. Meghan is excited about her birthday party. Meanwhile, Astoria points out that everyone has forgotten her birthday, and her sister quickly apologizes, as does Draco, in his own way. In the Forest of Dean, tension explodes between the Trio, and Ron leaves the Forest to return to Hogwarts.
December 2: The final Weird Sister members show up on the journals. Luna and then other students respond to Ron being back at Hogwarts without Harry and Hermione, and Ginny and Ron argue.
December 3: Some students begin to look forward to the upcoming holiday break, while others are worried that this may be the last time they see Hogwarts. Hermione attempts to write to Ron, which does not go well. Meanwhile, Gideon and Heath go shopping for lute strings and Ellie corners Audrey in the dorm to talk.
December 4: Meghan gets a pony for her birthday and then her party happens later that night. At Hogwarts, students are still looking forward to Hols and to the upcoming Quidditch match.
December 5: The Bloody Baron and the Grey Lady begin to act strangely. Very few people notice, however, because the last Hogsmeade visit before hols is scheduled. Su and Lucy shop for a bit before Lucy meets up with Nikolas.
December 6: Students are happy to have their Christmas shopping finished and to have had the Hogsmeade visit. The final Weird Sister arrives on the journals just in time for everyone to note that rock stars like cake. Elsewhere, Lucius and Narcissa discuss the state of things.
December 7: Penny has a slow Monday. McGonagall makes a decision regarding Viktor Krum and Hogwarts Quidditch. Meanwhile, there is a Herbology incident that Susan feels guilty for. More dangerously, Alecto writes publically about muggle hunting, which prompts a very big reaction from Ginny Weasley, though it seems that nothing can be done to censor her.
December 8: Rock stars get the cake they were waiting for, but cannot keep track of their pants.
December 9: People who *can* keep track of their pants are thinking about the upcoming holidays.
December 10: More students begin to discuss the upcoming holidays. And rock stars discuss cake that has been received. Ernie tries to figure out what the state of the DA is now.
December 11: There are some scornful comments about the recent importance of holidays and cake, and not everyone is so ready to go home. There is, at least, a quidditch game tomorrow to take people's minds off of it.
Please check out the list of incomplete threads and, if the thread is finished, change the tag to complete.
Remember that these recaps are for the game as a whole. If I've left out something, it just means I missed it, so please let me know. If you're interested in just the metaplot aspects there is a reference here that will chart just those things that happen to affect the overarching plots of the game. This will be updated today.
