Who: Fred and Alicia
What: Drinks!
Where: The Leaky Cauldron
When: Tonight
Rating/Warning: TBA

Fred did still feel like a bit of berk for asking Ali for drinks and then remembering he needed to spend the night with Verity instead, but he figured the day after Valentine's was still special, yeah? And Alicia was a good friend who could put up with him being a little forgetful - she was used to him by now. They did, however, have plans to meet for drinks, and he sent off a note for her to meet him at the Leaky to celebrate his healed up hand, then headed that way after he and George closed down the shop for the night.

He got there before she did, and spend the time waiting at the bar chatting it up with Tom, drinking his first pint and talking about the most recent Quidditch scores.

Alicia hadn't thought twice about the fact that Fred had to alter their plans. She had made quite a tradition of spending Valentine's Day alone, though as sad as that may sound, it really wasn't. The day was notorious for being one set aside for lovers, and what greater lover did she have apart from chocolates and alcohol? Her flatmates of course made an appearance, which was welcomed greatly. Truth be told, she definitely couldn't hold anything against Fred. If anything, he encouraged her evasive behavior. Spending Valentine's Day out on the town, whether with a friend or flying solo, would've felt awkward to say the least. It would've put a horrible kink in that cush she had surrounded herself with.

After cleaning herself up a bit following a long day at the Ministry, Alicia traveled by floo to the Leaky Caulrdon. If she had judged correctly, she allowed for enough time that her mate should've been awaiting her arrival. Licie always hated trying to pass time waiting for others. She never quite knew what to do with herself, which usually resulted in drinking simply to calm the nerves. Wiping the excess floo powder off her clothes, Alicia made her way downstairs into the pub where she quickly spotted that familiar fiery hair. "Great Godric, it's been a while since I've seen the likes of you around these parts," she called out while walking down the stairs, warranting some awkward staring on behalf of the strangers.

"Good to see you, Fred," she added in a softer voice once she was within closer range of the boy.

Fred looked up just like everyone else had, but where they were staring awkwardly or catcalling, he was grinning ear to ear.

"Alicat!" Fred hugged her as soon as she was within reach, a tight, crushing sort of hug that said he'd missed her, and that it had been too damn long since he'd seen her at all. "There you are. Thought you'd disappeared on me."

Alicia wasn't amused by the catcalling. She'd been accustomed to it, what with traveling about with Angelina & Katie almost always glued to her side. It was slightly awkward without the two of them to poke fun at the men, though.

Wrapping her arms around Fred's neck, she returned the squeeze. "Freddles, I would never. The way the Ministry stiffs me, I'm not likely to catch a break anytime soon." She smirked before calling to Tom for a Red Stripe, taking a seat across from the bloke. "Good to see you. It really has been a while, hasn't it?"

If any of them had said anything inappropriate or tried anything, Fred would have had them jelly-legged or with leeks sprouting out of their ears for a week. Being inappropriate about his girls was his job, damn it.

But as it was, they were tame, and he picked her up off her feet in the hug, then sat her back down with a grin and sat back on his stool. "The way the Ministry is over run by gits in masks with sodding Marks on their arms, you mean?" Fred said, and it drew a few looks - but Fred wore his blood traitor badge proudly, thank you very much. It shouldn't surprise anyone to hear him talk like that.

"Yeah, it has been. What are you drinking?"

She always managed to have a bit more confidence around her mates, knowing fully well anyone would be bloody mad to bother her when she was in Fred's company. The only sexual harassment she tolerated was the kind coming from Fred, George, and occasionally Lee. Then again, Alicia wouldn't exactly deem it as sexual harassment coming from those three. It would have to be undesired, right? Truth be told, her relationship with each of the guys in her life was pleasing enough that Alicia didn't feel she was lacking much. Maybe as far as the physical sense was concerned, it had been a while since she had a good shag, but it was always a random git she didn't desire to keep around too long. Physical intimacy wasn't her strong suit. It made her feel vulnerable and intricately attached to another, both things she wasn't willing to deal with for just anyone. However, she let her guard down occasionally if she ever felt particularly lonely. Fortunately work sucked up all her free time recently that she didn't have much opportunity to form any new relationships with those outside the Ministry. It was her security blanket, if you will.

"You didn't hear it from me," she shot back with a cheeky grin, directing her attention to those seated around them as if challenging them to have a problem with her mate. Ah, the confidence that came so freely when she was around her own! Tom brought over her bottles of Red Stripe with an empty glass, Ali popping them both open before handing one off to Fred. "It's Jamaican. One of the pubs we frequent have this beer taster card. I'm trying ot make it through all of the names on the list, but this is my recent favorite. It's just the right amount of sweet." She smiled and lifted her bottle to Fred's, "To catching up for lost time with one of the sexiest buggers I know."

Alicia took a healthy swig before setting it back down on the table. She had to attempt to monitor her consumption this evening. Last time she turned up hung over to work, she was sent home with a threat from Tibbets. "What's been new in your life, mate?"

"Just one of?" Fred looked a little disappointed, but then he grinned and took the bottle, clinking his with hers and then looking it over - turning the strange bottle around in his hands as he examined it. He shrugged, took a drink, and then seemed sure at least it wasn't something she was trying to trick him into trying.

A little sweet for his taste in beer, but it would do.

"New?" He shrugged. The only thing he'd been focused on lately were the shop, Potterwatch, and the Order - and the shop was the only thing he could talk about in public. "We're still making the plans to make a plaster of Wood's wang to sell. Wood's wood, or something, you know?"

"Alright, you prat. My recent favorite. You happy?" Alicia nudged at him playfully before taking another swig. Once the alcohol was low enough, which was easy considering how small the Jamaican bottles were, she wrapped both hands around the beer before spinning it quickly. A bit of liquid escaped naturally, but an overall success. Lord, she needed a bit more to drink if she had to take to entertaining herself in such a manner. Work took away every remaining brain cell, poor bird.

"That's... um... That's creative," she added with a smirk, shaking her head in amusement at the twins' antics. "What do you think his manager will say to that?"

"I should have always been your favorite, Lish," Fred shook his head again, tsking her, then grinned wide and took another drink of his beer, nearly draining his glass himself. He watched her spin it, wondered if she wasn't already a bit tipsy, then laughed - because he didn't much care if she was. Someone had to stay cheery, right? Ali was good for that.

"His manager can't say anything" Fred answered, smirking a little about Wood's situation. "He already signed the contract. Show Wood right, he's known us for how long and he signed something we gave him without reading it?"
