Lucius's only response to that was an obliging chuckle. His opinions regarding the competence of professional athletes to do anything (including drafting slogans) other than the physical tasks they were paid for weren't really worth going into.
Flint was a little more sensible than most, anyhow; no surprise, considering his family. "Quite," he agreed. "One wonders how the problem has persisted for as long as it has, considering everyone of any standing deplores it, as they should - but then, it's only recently that people have begun to do something about it again.
