"I assume you're familiar with our motto, sir?" Marcus asked. He had never asked whether or not Lucius had any special interest in Quidditch, apart from the fact that his son was part of the Slytherin team.
The change of topic was rather unpleasant for Marcus, but he didn't show it. His father was a tricky topic. Until a couple of years ago Marcus had idolized him and never managed to live up to Steve's expectations and after that, Marcus had done everything to piss him off and now he just...ignored him. Completely. He didn't visit him and he tried not to talk about him. "Neither have I sir," Marcus said truthfully. "But my mother says he is doing just fine, so I guess he is." Marcus didn't know what Malfoy wanted to hear, so he stuck to the truth, or as much as he knew about the truth at least.
"I would think he is much too busy to notice, always out and working." Marcus was aware that Lucius knew what it was his father did as a 'job'. As far as he was informed Lucius was sort of...doing the same. "Maybe you'll see him around and then he can tell you himself."
