Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!1998: 02, !incomplete, draco malfoy, theodore nott

Who: Draco and Theodore
What: Draco wanted to have a talk with his dormmates
Where: Dorm room
When: Sometime over the last week (because both I and IJ notifs are made of fail!)
Rating/Warning: TBA

Something had been off about Nott since they'd come back from holiday. Draco had thought to ask, once or twice, when he'd seen the boy out of bed in the mornings, but caring about someone else's welfare was a new sort of thing for Draco, really, and he wasn't at all sure if it extended to his roommates just yet. Particularly not to one as odd as Theodore Nott.

He did walk into the room, though, just before dinner, and found himself alone with Nott there at his desk. He considered for a moment just leaving again, but he had things he had to at least make an appearance of speaking to the other boy about. His arm itched, thinking about it, but Snape had said to put on the best show he could, really, particularly with these small orders that were only meant to test, and possibly annoy, him.

"Nott," He said, deciding and then coming into the room, taking off his robe and laying it across his own bed before loosening his tie. "Busy?"

Theo was tired, and not just because of the extra 'exercise' he'd been doing in the night without his knowledge. This stuff with the Muggleborns being catalogued was making everyone jumpy and that made Theo twitchy; nevermind the fact that his dad was still sending him headache inducing owls. He suspected that the only reason he hadn't been pushed into something unsavory by his dad just yet was because they were still trying to get the higher ground in the mindgames of war that they had going on at the moment.

He put his chin in his hand and didn't look round as Draco came in. Since Greg had startled him that time on his bed Theo had stepped up his game and his hypervigilance sometimes almost bordered on psychic, especially when he was supposed to be safe and at rest. And thinking of Greg, well, he was probably the only situation Theo had any grasp on anymore.

"Draco. Marginally."

"Marginally?" Draco looked around Nott carefully, seeing if there was something he'd missed, then sat at the edge of his own bed, eying him. "Doing what, then?" And whatever it was, Draco was still haughty enough to know that it wasn't more important than talking with him.

"Doing nothing." Theo said flippantly before turning to sit sideways on the chair and watch the ice blond in front of him. He'd been locked deep in thought, trying to self-diagnose to see if there was some kind of hex or curse on him that was causing what Greg insisted was him walking around in his sleep at night; he hadn't felt anything off about him, and the charms he had to detect any spells that might be put on him hadn't gone off, but he knew it was always a good idea to stop and 'stock take', just in case.

Thing was, even he didn't feel anything unusual about himself, so the mystery of his sleepless nights would remain just that - a mystery. "What's spurred you on to be social with me?" he asked, rude maybe but then he knew Draco and the boy wasn't the type to make small talk. Not anymore anyway.
