Fleur! ([info]_noseintheair) wrote in [info]wished,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!1997: 08, !incomplete, alecto carrow, bill weasley, charlie weasley, fleur delacour, fred weasley, george weasley, harry potter, hermione granger, lucius malfoy, rabastan lestrange, ron weasley

WHO:Bill, Fleur, Weasleys, Delacours, Order Members, Viktor Krum, Auntie Muriel (SOMEONE NPC HER PLEASE), ect, ect.
WHAT: Wedding reception and attack
WHEN: Saturday August 22.
WHERE: The burrow
NOTES: Mostly here. As for who all was invited. I've kept this to the canon book list, but if you really want a kid there it could probably be tweaked somehow probably through the twins? I don't know.

The burrow had been transformed, and for all the hair pulling and arguing the wedding planning had caused, the place looked divine. The wedding had gone off without a hitch. Gabrielle and Ginny looked amazing, and that was saying nothing for the bride herself and how happy the bride and groom looked. It had only taken a few moments after the wedding ceremony to have the guest chairs magically moved from the aisles and around the tables that were provided.

The weather had held out beautifully even though there were charms placed in the tent kept the temperature inside perfect. The flowers were arranged brilliantly and there were bottles of champagne floating around for anyone who might want a drink.

At this point the best man had said his speech, people were, eating and drinking at the tables, chatting in groups, and dancing on the dancefloor. The pictures had been taken. The celebration was well underway.

In his mind, Bill couldn't stop thinking it over and over again: Mr and Mrs Bill Weasley. He would've said it out loud a dozen or more times, but he was afraid there were far too many people around and he might look a bit nutty. There wasn't one thing that could wipe the large smile from his face today.

They really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day and Bill was impressed by the amount of detail that had been put into the wedding as a whole. His mother had really outdone herself this time and Bill was making a mental note to thank her as soon as possible in some way. He imagined that his mother would only ask for him to have children as quickly as possible and Bill was also quite anxious to begin filling out his part of the family tree.

Snapping back to reality from his daydream about children with Fleur, Bill watched as people had a good time and then looked around to find where his wife had run off. Not far from him, Fleur stood talking with some wedding guests. She looked marvelous. Simply breathtaking. Bill didn't think it was possible for her to look more beautiful than she did on a daily basis but he had been very wrong.

So as not to disturb their conversation, Bill casually made his way over to Fleur's side and placed a hand on her shoulder to let her know that he was there.

Charlie cradled a glass of what appeared to be juice in his right hand, swishing it around and around in the glass between sips. He'd never been so proud of Bill as he was today, and while he couldn't stop smiling, he felt the entire world go numb during his speech. It had gone well, without a hitch really, and he felt better now. He'd said nothing about his new position except to his younger brothers; he felt that he'd wait another few days so that Bill and Fleur could have their spotlight.

Taking a seat at the head table, he leaned on his elbows to watch the crowd. He recognised about half of the people there, and the other half he knew he'd never get away from. He'd spent the morning trying to duck away from their mother, but eventually she caught him and trimmed his hair up a bit -- and the heckling and compliments began once he'd pulled on his tux. It had mostly been in jest, and he took it well, but he felt like a child all over again -- something, he thought in retrospect, he'd felt like a lot recently.

He shook his head a few times and took another sip from the glass in his hand. At least everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in these times.

Fred had made some offcolour jokes here and there, but for the most part he'd been on his best behaviour during the ceremony. He had a new sort of respect for Bill, really. He'd managed to keep his hair long, have a brilliantly exciting job (though not as brilliant or as exciting as Fred's own, of course) be part of the Order and go about helping to keep the world save and what not and he'd found a really fit bird to marry and have babies with, etcetera. All in all, as Fred watched Bill vow his life away to Fleur, he'd been a little impressed with the whole thing.

Not that he expected to ever, ever do it himself. But still.

Now he went straight for the champagne, largely because it was where Aunt Muriel was not. She'd seen him heading his and George's way and ducked behind Lee to make his way across the garden. He stopped by Charlie, though, catching a glass and taking a drink. "Oi. Where are Fleur's cousins? They don't speak English, so it would take them longer to slap me."

Hermione was anxious, that was the word for it. At the reception she could hardly stay in a seat, and she kept glancing over to Harry in that ridiculous disguise (well, it was a rather good disguise) and thinking over and over to herself how stupid it was that he was out in public this way. At Hogwarts it would be different - they'd be safer, and things would be at least a bit more normal. But here? With people they didn't know milling about. She didn't like it.

The one bright moment had been seeing Viktor again. She hadn't missed Ron's scowl as she'd hugged him, or the one he wore now that she was sitting at a table with him, trying to keep up a conversation catching up between glances at Harry checking to be sure he was still alive.

Harry kept catching himself wanting to reach up and fuss with his newly red, shorter hair, or adjust glasses that weren't actually there, just now. He had them tucked in a pocket of his robes, just in case, but it was just weird, having them off and seeing fine.

It felt weird to just stand about at a party after what they'd found, but Harry didn't want to take away from the wedding at all. He was trying to stay out of the way of most people. The family all knew who he was, but to the rest he was just a Weasley cousin - red-haired appearance stolen from a muggle bloke. He was about two inches taller, too. That part at least he could get used to.

He saw Hermione looking at him and gave her a wry smile and a shrug. They were all right. For now, at least. Harry had seen Ron scowling too. At least Ron was entertaining.

George was hot on Fred's heels, mostly because Muriel was eying them like she wanted to offer up some words of ancient, terrifying hag wisdom, and George had already had to listen to her expound on something - he'd forgotten what already - earlier. Once was as much as a bloke could be expected to take an an evening.

Fleur had forced all pockets to be emptied and been a bit scary about the possible consequences of any WWW products making their way into the wedding. So George was eying the plethora of refreshments and silently lamenting lost opportunity as he snatched Fred's champagne away. (Nevermind that he could have just got his own.)

He could still see Muriel, so he attempted to shrink down and look shorter than he was so he could hide on Fred's other side. "Yeah, but they might have claws when they DO slap," he reminded his twin, finishing off the drink before Fred could take it back, sneezing as the bubbles tickled at his nose.

George should probably congratulate the bride and groom at some point, he supposed. Actually he could take care of that now. "OI! CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING LEG SHACKLED FOR LIFE!" he called to them. From where he stood. Right. Taken care of.

Well wishes, from one person after another. Who knew being the bride at a celebration of your own marriage could be so tiring? All she really wanted to do was dance some before, talk to her family again, and then take off with Bill for the rest of the night.

She was nodding and all smiles when she felt Bill's hand on her shoulder. Her hand came up and squeezed it as she finished the conversation she'd been having with a couple of cousins of hers in French.

"I still can not believe you have run off with an Englishmen. A cute one, perhaps, but an Englishman."

Fleur smiled brightly. "You are horrible!" She said with a laugh. "Get out of here the both of you!" She said swatting at the oldest of the two playfully. "Oh, and watch out for the twins." Fleur tacked on kissing both of their cheeks.

"Congratulations." The eldest of the two said to Bill in an accent far thicker than Fleur's before they rushed off to dance.

Finally Fleur was able to turn to face her husband (Yes, HER husband, and no, she would not squeal), interlocking her fingers with his as she cradled a champagne flute in the other. "This is all so wonderful." She said softly, reaching up to give him a quick kiss.

Bill smiled politely at Fleur's cousins and waited for their conversation to end. Although he picked up little bits of French in the past few years, Bill was no where near fluent enough to keep up with the ladies and had no idea they were discussing him.

"Thank you," Bill grinned at the older girl and watched the pair scamper off before turning his attention back to his wife fully.

"It is spectacular," Bill agreed with a nod, "However, I'm wondering...is there a certain amount of time we should stay?"

The kiss wasn't nearly long enough for Bill's liking so he promptly bent down to kiss Fleur again once she pulled away. He was determined to make it last long enough for him to at least convey how soon he wanted to get out of there and be alone with her.

His rather limited and broken French was one of the things she loved about him. It meant he had tried, but she really wasn't as patient of a teacher as he was.

One arm wrapped around his neck as they stood there talking. "Oui, most in-un-infortunate, but I would very much like to throw my bouquet and speak with Gabrielle before we are to leave." She said a smile dancing across her lips as she drained her champagne flute and allowed the other hand to meet hers.

She met his lips again, pulling him to her, thinking it a bit unfair that he could always make her go completely weak kneed. She was telling him the same back. When that kiss broke off, she followed his head for another soft follow up kiss. "As I have been saying... most infortunate."

Elves were useful - as fodder, as slaves. The Lord once called Tom Riddle felt no differently about that now than He had when He had first seen them in the kitchens of Hogwarts. And now this one He knew, this one He'd once left for dead, had served his purpose again. Had brought Him news that He wanted too much to hear. He had not sullied the name of his master, but it was little trouble to deduce what the thing would not say, and now He had a location. Now, He had a better understanding of just what it was that the boy who lived was doing. Tricky, brave, foolish little sack of bones and ashes who was playing in things he would never understand.

Dark Marks burned - ancient magic searing through the arms of those who had taken them - and their bearer's Lord had two legions. The first, He sent to Grimmauld. Potter would not use that place for safety again. The second, his chosen, those... well, they had a wedding to attend. And a Fletcher to catch.

The burning sensation sent a thrill up her spine, as Alecto actually giggled. Pushing her sleeve up, she watched as the skull burned and seared over her ivory skin, turning a prominent black. Kicking over the table, she was previously sitting by within the Malfoy's living room. Pointing to a rather seedy figure sitting in a dark corner, Alecto lifted that dark gaze to the man. "Gibbon, let's go."

Alecto was rather upset that she wasn't able to work with Amycus. Come to think of it, she was pissed, there was really only one person that could control the manic rage within her, and that person was being sent to trail the Golden Trio. Pulling out her wand, she watched as Gibbon followed her lead. Despite her distaste for being forced to work with Gibbon, Alecto still took pride in the fact that the Dark Lord selected her to be one of those Death Eaters that would pay a visit to the Weasley wedding. Lips curled into a cruel smirk as she vanished from the living room. The CRACK of her apparition still lingering in the air, as Gibbon followed her lead.

"Wand at the ready, Gibby-dear." "Shut up, Carrow, I don't want to splinch myself." Alecto hissed towards the man, "Fucking idiot."

The crack of the two Death Eaters apparating announced their arrival to the wedding. Glancing around, Alecto kicked over the table holding the wedding cake, watching it tumble to the ground, it splattered in the grass. Cackling maddeningly, those dark eyes glanced around at the people. Where was he?! Lips curled into a disgusted sneer, as her wand was aimed and ready. Gibbons standing at high alert as well, watching the people react to their arrival.

"A wedding? Now why wasn't I invited? I certainly love joyous occasions." Kicking some of the cake towards a few patrons, she glanced towards the happy couple. "What a perfect match, might I congratulate the blood traitor, and his creature wife." Another cackling laughter came from Alecto as her gaze was watching the group like a hawk, they were only here seeking out ONE person.

It didn't take very much thought to realize why his Mark was lying dormant when others' had clearly sprung to life - the man he was passing in the front hall had just rolled back his sleeve in a clumsy rush, and judging by the racket in a nearby room there were a couple other lucky souls set to leave his house for the evening. He would be next to useless, without a wand; and he was hardly surprised that the Dark Lord didn't seem to be tripping over himself to offer him chances to make amends.

A little peace and quiet, then, was his first thought. It didn't last long. He didn't have the luxury of sitting around and waiting for other people to continue to take the glory, and while it was bordering on idiocy to rush headlong into a hostile crowd with no defenses, his drastically narrowed options were pushing him to some pretty idiotic things, these days. If there was even the slightest chance that he might be the one to find what the Dark Lord was seeking ... "You," he said sharply, grabbing Scabior's arm as he was pushing down his sleeve, "Wait." There was a silent beat while they looked at one another, as Lucius made every effort to hide his uncertainty. He could see the man weighing his risks and benefits. In the end he nodded, and Lucius rushed him out into the yard, where they vanished into the night.

A moment later they appeared at the outskirts of the crowd of wedding guests. Nearly the first thing Lucius heard, from a few paces away, was Carrow's voice; he winced a little. It was his staunch opinion that dramatics were for when you were operating well within the law - or at least wearing a mask - or at least not likely to be actively cursed by a mob of people. (But being unarmed was probably influencing his point of view.) "Stay with me," he said to Scabior, when he made a move to join the other two; he got a slightly irritated glare in return, but Scabior stopped where he was. He knew he was in no position to be giving orders, but apparently the thought of potentially having Lucius Malfoy in one's debt one day was still enough to ensure compliance, from some people. And thank goodness for that. He held back, half shielded by Scabior's body as they both began to scour the place for any sign of Fletcher.

Right before the destruction of her cake, Fleur had been sitting calmly at the table, spending some time and speaking in rapid French to Gabrielle. While they'd been talking for a while (Gabrielle would be starting school soon, and she was also a little jealous at the though she might be losing Fleur to another family), Fleur found that like always she did not mind if her time was monopolized by her sister.

When Alecto popped up some people jumped into action while others ran. Fleur stood so quickly her chair tipped backwards, and she quickly shoved her sister behind her. "Gabrielle, I need you to run and hide now." Fleur said reaching down as inconspicuously as possible to grab the wand she'd hidden on her leg under her dress.

"Fleur, maman and papa..."

Fleur glanced around quickly for her parents and soon saw her mother's worried expression. Fleur caught her mother's gaze and they both nodded in understand. "They will be fine. Go now. Stay low. Do not come out until you hear us call for you. Now." That last now was said in a way that showed that such a command was NOT up for discussion. Fleur stood wand drawn waiting for another move to be made.

When he heard the crack announcing that people had just appeared, Bill turned to see who it was. At first, he didn't recognize the two people, but that had more to do with his distance from them than actually not knowing them and what they represented. Panic quickly spread through him and he was up out of his chair around a table with other Order members before Alecto had the chance to kick the cake table over. In mere seconds, Bill found his wand, withdrew it from his inner coat pocket and looked around frantically for Fleur.

It put him at ease to see her in very much the same position as him. Bill knew that Fleur could more than take care of herself, but he would definitely keep one eye trained in her direction - ready to interfere if anyone threatened to hurt her. With so many of their family and friends in attendance, the reality of how bad things could get started to set in and Bill glanced around at the other Order members, making sure they were aware of the situation.

They were, from what he could tell.

"What do you want?" he yelled at the pair of Death Eaters.

A couple more cracks snapped through the chaos, revealing two men who were also dressed in all black. Jugson instantly moved away from Rabastan, raising his wand to begin slinging random spells and just cause absolute havoc while the other man walked very calmly over to take a seat at one of the tables, almost oblivious to the absolute chaos around them.

Rabastan reached over and picked up a plate of cake that had somehow been left untouched. Eyeing the Weasley children -- well, as many as he could while assessing the threats around him -- he took a bite from the cake and let out a sigh, glancing over to where Alecto had flipped over the table and ruined what was left. "Love, you ruined this wonderful cake. They went through all this trouble to set the table for us, and you've gone and destroyed it all."

Jugson just turned back and sneered at Rabastan, obviously irritated that the man that was held in such high favor with their Lord was simply sitting around eating cake.

At the crack of the first Apparation, it took Verity a too long moment to wrap her mind around what was happening, the champagne flute in her hand frozen halfway to her mouth. It wasn't until the lovely wedding cake crumpled to the wet grass and people started screaming that Verity was shocked into movement. She dropped the flute, barely hearing it shatter, and fumbled with the hem of her dress. It seemed like forever before she was able to tug it up enough to yank her wand out of its holder and level it towards the black-cloaked figures.

There were too many people, running and screaming, Verity couldn't get a clear shot. Another pair of cracks sliced through the chaos and she raised her wand, opening her mouth when one of the men shot off a spell casually. Unable to cast protego in time, Verity instinctively moved, the spell hitting her in the shoulder instead of the chest, the force of it sending her spinning backwards into a row of chairs that collapsed on top of her.

The sounds of apparation were unmistakeable, and Fred processed what was happening and had his wand in his hand a little faster than some of those around him - but the sharp, cold sort of fear at the last time they'd been around Death Eaters kept him planted for a moment, eyes on George.

But that was George, and this was his whole bloody family and all of his friends. And there were people here who didn't have a clue what was going on, or what the Order was, and there was Verity, who'd just had a bloody birthday and who he'd dragged along and as soon as he thought of her he was sprinting toward where she was between the bulk of some guests and the Death Eaters.

Sodding brilliant girl, really, and Gryffindor brave like anything because she wasn't a part of this at all, really, and he could still see that she was leveling her wand on one of the bastards - then she was hit, and collapsing, and Fred wasn't even aware he was hexing until he saw Jugson vomiting after his curse and turning on him instead.

The glass fell from Charlie's hand as the Death Eaters began their attack. The man fumbled it and caught the piece of crystal, hardly believing what was going on. Chaos had erupted at the wedding, and Charlie found himself drawing his wand in his spare hand and snapping off return fire.

Yet he was concerned about hitting one of their guests, if not his own family. His eyes fell to Jugson, who was now vomiting from the curse his brother had used, and an idea came to his mind. Drawing back the glass in his hand he threw it -- though it never actually reached the intended target. A stray spell of who knows what sort caught the glass in midair, causing it to shatter and rain down shards of glass over the Death Eater, to which Charlie grimly grinned.

"Fred! George!" He shouted, looking to catch his brothers' attention for just a moment. "Dopplebeater Defence!" He had to hope that the two would quickly reconnect to their Quidditch formations and see what he was getting at.
