Hestia felt silly. Tonks felt so deeply betrayed that she couldn't yet process it. She'd trusted him. She knew she was the one in the relationship who loved a little bit more, and she'd been okay being that person so long as Remus loved her too. But he hadn't, that much was clear now, and instead of ending things cleanly when he first cheated on her, he'd dragged it through an engagement and a surprise pregnancy. The hurt and the ripple effect of his actions could have been so much less if only he'd been honest and not played her for a fool.
But now she was pregnant, and they were going to have a baby together. No, she thought, she was going to have a baby. Remus had made himself clear about not being in the baby's life, and she would respect that and do everything she could to make sure her son knew that he was loved. Just not by his bastard of a father. Another casualty of Remus's selfishness, and as she thought about it, she only grew angrier.
Noticing Hestia's indecision about where to put the cloak, Tonks gestured to a clear spot on the sofa. "You can put it there, or you can sit there, doesn't matter. If I say duck, duck."
She stopped, her hand now shoved inside the icebox, where she was certain some foods only Remus ate were hiding. "It might be," she said in a surprisingly calm voice. "If it is, we can take it to Hogsmeade."
