"A win is a win, and it brings Slytherin closer to winning this year." A tiny smile curled on her lips, as her mood was slowly lifting from earlier. Blaise had that ability, no matter how bitter, or sour Daphne could be feeling, being around Blaise she felt at ease and calmer. Perhaps that was why she kept him around so much. He could calm whatever paranoid anxiety she might have with just a flicker of his charming smile. It was also the reason why she kept him as just a friend. Her own anxiety about relationships made her keep Blaise as close as she could without making her uncomfortable and paranoid.
She didn't know why she was so guarded. She didn't know why it was so difficult to allow people in, but she knew it kept her safe. It prevented her from becoming one of those sobbing bint that couldn't get over a boy. It allowed her to life her life at her own pace, and her own will. It made sure that she would never hurt out of her own will. Sure, it was lonely, but it was better than having such a delicate heart broken too many times.
Daphne could feel his eyes roaming over her body, and when he finally smirked, Daphne's heart raced just slightly. Placing her leg back down, she swatted at his cheek playfully. "I strive for perfection, love, you know that." Allowing a finger to trace along his jaw line, before lightly darting across his lower lip, "Now, now. I would hate to blind you with perfection." Her fingers pulled back from his lips as she took a seat beside him. Knees pressed against his legs, her blue gaze settled on the boy.
"Well, we're supposed to be celebrating, love." Nodding towards the basket, which was on the other side of Blaise, legs brushed against him once more as she lifted to cross them. "It's your favorite," Her voice lowered slightly to a tone like she was just speaking to him. While there was no one else around threatening to listen in on their conversation, Daphne still spoke quietly. The icy tone in her voice melting away to something more intimate, and private. It was a tone that Blaise only heard, and only meant for Blaise's ears.
