Growing up in Chiseldon, Lucy spent most of her childhood in the neighboring fields to their old refurbished farmhouse with her brother and the rest of the neighborhood kids. They were often kicking around a football or playing pick up rugby games. The cornstalks also made for a rather fabulous, if not difficult, game of hide and seek. But it would be a surprise to see a reindeer running across the field or a unicorn grazing by the lakes.
She smiled as a flicker of envy appeared on her face. She couldn't begin to imagine how exciting it must have been to grow up where Nikolas did. He didn't talk much about himself. He had always asked her more about herself than she ever had the chance to ask about him. But this was a nice change. She liked hearing him talk.
"I imagine you miss home, then," she said, though she was thinking aloud more than anything. "Do you have any siblings?"
