He liked Verity because most of the time she could take George and him in stride. She got flustered sometimes, but she didn't spend half an hour whinging and poking fingers at them afterwards. He opened the fridge to rifle through it, looking for something, and then rolled his eyes and closed it again, shaking his head at her.
"I'll be right back," he said, and in a flash disappeared out the front door and into the darkness again, the loud crack of apparation obvious from the darkness as soon as he was in it.
