He was always a little wary about coming to Hogwarts these days. Even if they still had hold over the grounds, he never knew when something unsavory may happen there and, to be honest, Remus liked the idea of avoiding the fray as long as possible. He'd never admit it, but he always thought it. Even the first time around he was better suited for the planning the logical work than actual fighting. As long as he could, at least.
A little hungover from the night before, thankful that he couldn't remember most of the last half of the night, Remus pulled himself together, downed a couple cups of coffee and made himself presentable for the trip. He always tried to look decent around Tonks, even if she'd seen him in much worse states. He... he loved her, he supposed. Well no, he did love her. He didn't have any doubt about that. He just... things weren't that simple, that was all. And he had no control over that.
He smiled at a few familiar faces, both staff and students alike, and made his way towards where he knew Tonks would most likely be. It was a surprise to see her pacing as she was, but Remus leaned against a wall and held out a hand to her, smiling. "Pretty while she frets, now that's a task worth admiring," he offered.
