Tonks looked guiltily down at her hands, having been giving Hestia that look. She'd never wanted to be a teacher permanently, but now she would be, at least until the war was over, and there was no telling when that might be. And that engagement--what if Remus only wanted to marry her because she was pregnant? They'd been pushing it back for months.
"If he decides to stay," she said tightly, "I'm afraid he'll only be doing it out of obligation. And if he isn't, how will I know the difference? I don't want to marry him anymore if the only reason he's doing it is because of this. It isn't fair to either of us. Any of us," she corrected, because soon there would be three.
It felt like she was going through this alone, even with Hestia right there. Nervous, Tonks remained still and nodded. "If I need to do anything, just say so, yeah?"
