Vicky was, for once, speechless as the static crackled from the wireless as the broadcast ended, exchanging a look with Dem and then looking up and towards the door as Sam came in. She didn't know what to say after that, really. Vicky wasn't usually good at serious, but there was no denying that was exactly what this was.
Terrified, too. Vicky was terrified. Of what could happen to her, to her family, to Sam's Mum, to any of them, really. She wasn't one to show her fear, easily, to admit even to herself that she was scared, so it was easier to fall silent for now.
"Yeah..." was all she could say when Same spoke, asking if they'd listened. She wanted to ask if Sam was already, but of course she wasn't. It made her worry about her own family, even though they were Muggle, even though she'd convinced them to go on Holiday for awhile. The thought that anything could happen... but what could they do, really? She hated this. Knowing that all they could do was sit there and listen to what was going on while being powerless to stop any of it.
