Daphne didn't know why she kept talking to him. Every time that she tried to think up a reason as to why she talked to him, she always ended up deciding it was because he was interesting. High society purebloods were run of the mill with the people that Daphne met, however... a muggleborn, Wizard who before coming to Hogwarts knew nothing about the wizarding world? Now that was a fascinating thing to see. After the fiasco with the squid Daphne found some sort of respect for him... and actually enjoyed mocking him - especially since Dean took it all in stride. Most people she mocked became highly defensive, and didn't take her taunting lightly. It showed a form of insecurity that Daphne had no respect for.
Peering over the sketchpad and down towards his shoes, Daphne arched a brow. "Indeed, practice makes perfect, I see." Holding out the sketchbook for him to take, she then glanced over at the book in her hands.
"I was curious, and Professor Egg seems to have a pretty good grasp on this muggle business. Besides, I wanted to figure out what all the fuss is about your lot, and why everyone cares so bloody much about mud-- muggleborns." Biting her tongue, she made sure to avert her gaze away from Dean. "Muggles seem to get along just fine by ignoring our existence, I don't get why wizards and witches can't just ignore their existence. Life would seem less complicated."
